Today our Mastercourse gets under way, alongside three recitals rooted in Paris. The relationship between Verlaine and Rimbaud is the basis for the lunchtime concert, before an event exploring Yvonne Loriod in her centenary year, and this evening we mark Fauré’s centenary.
Really looking forward to hearing Yvonne Loriod's song cycle Grains de cendre in Oxford next Monday @PeterAsimov@siriuschauflute@clairegeosop & Jongsun Woo https://t.co/QyLvZRSFh8
We received 50 applications for IMSODA2023. Choosing from all submissions was not an easy task but here is the winner: Peter Asimov, “Comparative Philology, French Music, and the Composition of Indo-Europeanism from Fétis to Messiaen.” Congratulations! 👉 https://t.co/0YlVwDzmXA
@PeterAsimov on Protagonizing Yvonne Loriod (rather than ‘rescuing’). Thought-provoking considerations of how we can reconcile 1) foregrounding the work of a self-effacing individual with 2) staying true to their self-presentation and the strategies they made.

@NatashaLoges A live recording was made for the Conservatoire’s own archive, but I’m not sure it will be shared at this stage. But it’s something to hope for in the near future!
