NGO; lectures on electronic preference voting decision-making in Belfast, Moscow and Beijing; travels overland:good, хорошо,很好 !
Open Britain Team is promoting a petition for PR-STV. (But no mention of the Quota Borda System QBS. While FPTP prohibits, and PR-STV allows, QBS actually encourages voters to cast their preferences, to vote across the gender gap, the party divide, and even the sectarian chasm.
Politics isn't working. It's time to call time on the broken culture in Westminster and have a fresh start with a fair voting system. Add your name to @electoralreform's call to #MakeSeatsMatchVotes https://t.co/YZKRklDSmZ And ask ERS to also critique binary decision-making.
A Borda border poll. Sat Aug 3rd, 11 am: a role-play in electronic multi-option decision-making: folks propose options, and then cast their preferences on these options on their mobile phones. A few nano-seconds later, they will see the results. More on https://t.co/3JCjnrqTK2

Majority voting is exclusive... and primitive! In PLURAL democracies, controversies are multi-optional; so voting should be preferential... and inclusive!
"Consensus and Climate Change" has just been published in the journal OJPS, which is based in China, in Wuhan: https://t.co/H3jckSt8EI
All set for COP28... perhaps.
Israel. Is today's extreme right-wing 'majority' democratic? Was the 2017 DUP/Tory govt. democratic? Or the 2010 govt. in the Netherlands with the Freedom Party? Or the Austrian one with theirs in 1999? Would all-party coalitions be better, if only for Covid and Climate Change?
Nigeria, elections. 75% didn't vote for Obi, 71% not for Abubakar, 63% not for Tinubu. So Tinubu wins? Majority rule? It's time for preferential voting and power-sharing!
Is it wise to use such an adversarial and unAfrican electoral system in Nigeria? Why not the original US system: the winner becomes the President; the runner-up is the Vice?
I was honoured to present my book, The Punters' Guide to Democracy, to @PresidentIRL Michael D Higgins this afternoon. @springerpub

President Higgins this afternoon received Peter Emerson, Director of the de Borda Institute, on a courtesy call at Áras an Uachtaráin, who presented the President with a copy of his book "The Punters' Guide to Democracy"
Settlements on West Bank, de-forestation in Amazon, oil drilling in Alaska? In a democracy, nothing should happen if no consensus. Every party/faction may propose an option, debate all, and in 4-6 option ballots, all cast preferences to see which option has the highest average!
Israel's majority of extremists coalition. Is democratic? Bolsonaro, Trump both ruled a majority; was either democratic? Covid, Climate Change advocate real majority rule: all-party coalitions, consensus decisions only: options which get the highest average preference scores.
