@DanNeidle@John2Win None! My personal view (as a pensioner) is that the basic rate tax allowance should be the same as the basic state pension (but only subject to a double lock). Employees National Insurance should be abolished and Income Tax rates increased (thereby payable by pensioners)
Every single person who still cringes at the memory of trying to bullshit their way through an interview or exam question: today, the slate is wiped clean. Set down your burden of shame. Nothing - nothing, I say - could touch this.
After 156 games in 9 years as playing coach and DoR @CaiGriffiths is finally calling it quits. 114 wins and 2 draws. What an achievement, a legend. Thanks Cai, you've been a class act. @LondonWelshRFC
@afneil The problem is that the State Pension entitlement is actually linked to the number of years you have been “paying” National Insurance. NI should have been abolished once it just became part of general income taxation.
@DanNeidle The problem is that the Treasury (and all other government departments) spend a lot of time floating ideas to gauge the political response. I seem to recall that previously the contents of the budget were a surprise!
