@dez1130@jltho@CoreyWriting No, it's because of cost of living. The situation would still be bad if taxes were lower. Ironically Indiana has a very high gas tax along with Illinois and Chicago has some of the most affordable utilities in the country
@dez1130@jltho@CoreyWriting Also, Illinois has a budget surplus and Starbucks is only adding a regional hq in Nashville. Their main one will still be in seattle
@dez1130@jltho@CoreyWriting Blue states are losing population due to nimbys refusing to increase the supply of housing and the fact red states are in places with warmer climates. Many of the most important metrics are dominated by blue states.
