All writing is a creative function for self-redemption. Eight BEAUTIFUL POETRY BOOKS written with truth, thought and thorns. Thanks if you are following –
@WendyESlater A lovely interview from one of my favourite poets. Her work is intriguing and draws the reader in on so many plains of reference. It is ever-moving and vibrant.
When I see the SIZE of the world and the SMALL of our books, the effectivity becomes a frightening impossibility. But when I imagine the size of the Universe against the reality of a single book – size becomes nothing. https://t.co/QzM15BNk8w
Here is my latest book of poetry. After a difficult year working on a full trilogy of my poems, I put that project aside for the moment and switched to completeing this 84 page book of my early poems, written between 1975 and 1988. These poems are worthy contributions to my general output because they contain clear evidence of the full emergence of my eventual style. The book is called ’Suspicious Titles’.

I was asked to contribute a poem for the @FeversOf the Mind – Sylvia Plath & Anne Sexton tribute – both are among my favourite poets. I sent 'Midnight Squall' written in memory of the brilliant #AnneSexton. This poem was first published in my book: 'Gain of Function'.
Many thanks to 'Fevers of the Mind Poetry and Art 2025' for publishing several poems from my latest book - 'No Road Home' – It is much appreciated.

Never think marketing your book will actually work. Marketing often just becomes the siren they want you to write. Free yourselves from delusion and write what you want. Otherwise, you may find yourself lost in slogans.

I’m just sorry to hear this, David. I know what you’re saying because I have struggling about myself lately. In fact, I am just about thinking of getting out there again. It is always important to tend to own work, but we always need the help of others. I thank you for all the support you gave me and hope you will back soon. Poetry is a life experience and breathes the same breath that we do.
'NO ROAD HOME' deals with important details that form the entanglements of our lives. It deals with them in terms of their place in the wider picture and sometimes in abstract and creative ways.

I saw Leonard Cohen perform live in concert in the mid-1970s. It was a great evening. Below is a photograph of the front cover of my programme that beautiful night all those years ago.
He has been a great influence on my work.

August 14, 1945 —Japan surrenders to the Allies. Deployment of two atomic bombs: Little Boy and Fat Man prompted Japan to surrender that they had vowed never to accept. On 6-9 Aug, U.S. detonated said bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki. #manhattanproject#b29

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ #bookreview:
"I have read a great deal of poetry written by this mystical, transformational poet. To say that Wendy E. Slater’s work mesmerizes is a mere understatement.
Yet in this new collection, Two Full Circles Undivided, I discovered more sensual notes that the poet played like the movements of a symphonic orchestration. Not only did each of these movements have their own structure, but they were often in sonata form, beginnings united with astrophysical descriptions that, to this reader, made them corporeal, but, at times, also otherworldly.
It's impossible to review poems like these without sounding like an academic—therefore, I will simply say they are a gorgeous concerto—a masterful opus!"
Timeless wisdom for your soul healing in a fractured world.
