Spain's Pedro Sánchez awarded the Order of Civil Merit to Francesca Albanese in support of her work documenting human rights violations in occupied Palestine.

Sánchez, who is one of Europe’s strongest critics of Israel’s genocide in the Gaza Strip, praised her as “a voice that upholds the conscience of the world.”

The move came after Spain urged the European Union to protect the International Criminal Court and the United Nations from US sanctions.

Albanese was sanctioned by the Trump administration over her investigations into Gaza war crimes and cooperation with the ICC arrest warrants against Israeli officials for war crimes.

Guys, I know a lot of Americans are struggling right now. Some people can barely afford groceries. Trust me, I know. But if we want things to change, we need to start electing the right people into Congress and government, people who will fight to lower costs and improve everyday life. We shouldn’t have to constantly worry about whether we can afford basic necessities. Life may never be perfect, but it can absolutely be better.

Part of the reason so many Americans are suffering is because we’ve been passive for too long. We’ve allowed right voices and honest politicians to get pushed out by powerful lobbying interests, including Israeli lobbyists who heavily influence Congress. I don’t have a lot to give, but whenever I see a cause that matters, I try to leave my mark and support it however I can.

Thomas Massie needs support right now and this shouldn’t just matter to Republicans. Moderates and Democrats should care too. I’m not a Republican and I’m not a Democrat, but I will support @RepThomasMassie and I’ll support @RoKhanna as long as they keep fighting for transparency, accountability, and what’s right. Right now they are!

These two are an example of how people from opposite sides can come together and be effective for the country they both serve. Thomas Massie needs your help.

The truth is, the little information we’ve gotten so far about Epstein and those connected to him only came out because people like Thomas Massie, Ro Khanna, and @mtgreenee kept pushing and refusing to let this disappear. So if you believe in truth and accountability, it’s time to stand behind the people willing to fight for it.

🚨New Testimonies Reveal Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya Stripped, Beaten, and Set Upon by Dogs in Israeli Detention

Three recently released Palestinian prisoners have provided harrowing testimony about the condition of Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, who has been held in Israeli detention since his arrest on December 27, 2024.

Released prisoner Ahmad Qaddas said he initially did not recognize Abu Safiya due to his physical deterioration. He described the doctor spending most of his time “sitting in a daze,” barely able to speak, while fellow prisoners could hear him screaming during beatings but were powerless to intervene — with those who tried to help facing tear gas raids.

A second witness, Hamza Abu Omeira, said Abu Safiya suffered constant vomiting, could not keep food down, and was denied medical care. He described seven consecutive days during which prisoners were shackled by both hands and feet. He said Abu Safiya was also reportedly forced to repeat degrading phrases about himself under torture.

A third released prisoner said he witnessed Abu Safiya being stripped, beaten after interrogation, and attacked by police dogs that “scratched him and knocked him to the ground.”

All three witnesses warned he faces imminent death if not released immediately. Abu Safiya is one of 737 medical workers arrested by Israel since the start of the war, according to Al Jazeera.
