@Radiology_AI T4. Unimodal models will likely be best for a specific focused task such as detection of intracranial hemorrhage whereas multimodal models will likely be more useful for more general tasks such as diagnosis and prognosis. #RadAIchat
@Radiology_AI T3. Multimodal AI will be held to the same scientific rigor and standard that is emerging in understanding and applying AI. This will consist of external validation with scientific peer review for algorithms developed in the research setting. #RadAIchat
@Radiology_AI I think one way to assist in development is for public datasets to not only include pure imaging data (which has historically been the most common) but to also include relevant clinical data (lab values, outcomes) that can be used in conjunction with the imaging. #RadAIchat
@khosravi_bardia @Radiology_AI@eduardomjfarina@asellerg Good question! I think it is tricky to try to balance multimodal in the computer science science sense with mulitmodality in the radiology sense. I think we may be relying on that "ality" ending for some time! #RadAIchat
