@Unemployedneg I think some don’t take him seriously but far more don’t want to be a target should he win. Too bad it’s the only time these people fear the federal government.
@joshtpm@NateSilver538 There is no economist that doesn’t see the numbers—especially compared worldwide—and not see them as the best possible outcome of the last few years. Indeed it’s been so good our demand is helping Europe et al stave off even worse numbers.
@rickperlstein I’m sympathetic to the MH part about working journalists just muddling through, but then in that interview she straw mans the critiques and actually gives the argument herself.
@MatthewSitman Yes for real. I’ve done tons of academic editing but I started in news where everything is just shredded. It’s amazing how many academics think convoluted and/or ungrammatical sentences is a “style.”
@brianbeutler I always think that—really bland doesn’t help in search. But maybe they’re two moves ahead and think the bland headline gets enough people pissed that they link to it and it gets more clicks that way.
