Stephen A. Smith admits he can’t wrap his head around “how the hell” the Clintons and Obamas left office worth upwards of $100,000,000 after “serving” the American people.
“Clinton was a lawyer in Arkansas, grew up poor, relatively broke. How the hell he and the Clinton Foundation are worth hundreds of millions of dollars beats me.”
“Barack Obama was a community organizer who became the President of the United States. And last time I checked, that salary ain’t over $450,000.”
“How the hell you depart from office, [together] you worth over $200 million?”
Clintons’ net worth before office: ~$1,300,000
Clintons’ net worth today: ~$120,000,000
Obamas’ net worth before office: ~$1,300,000

Just ONE drain in India empties 150,000,000 Liters of human shit into the Ganges River each day.
Just ONE drain empties the shit of one million Indians into the Ganges River.
This is not including all of the other pollutants, like dead bodies, tons of plastic and trash, etc.
ALL of which makes its way into the Indian Ocean, polluting & killing marine life.
There is no universal outrage, Greta Thunberg is nowhere to be found, the United Nations is silent.
India is destroying the planet and they get away with it.

Here is exactly what I would do if I was to RESTART my pressure washing business from NOTHING
Lets dive right in:
(For anyone seriously looking to start a home service business themselves)
1) Market research:
Figure out what services are highly sought after in that area
For example down south most driveways are concrete so driveway cleaning/surface cleaning is a big market as opposed to here in NY where we almost never wash driveways
Same thing with gutter cleaning its a big service around here bc of the trees we have as opposed to somewhere like Arizona where its mainly desert (I assume)
So find what works in that area
Lets go with good ole house washing, roof washing, and gutter cleaning for the purposes of this post.
2) Equipment:
For house washing we need a pressure washer
For roof washing we need a soft wash machine
For gutter cleaning we need a bucket & a leaf blower
& then of course all the other stuff like PPE and other extras like gas cans, soap buckets, soap, and hoses.
If Im limited on money Id stick with a ladder and a bucket to start with gutter cleaning, then work up to a 4-8gpm pressure washer & eventually a soft wash machine.
Or just work a job for a few weeks/borrow money from a fam member to get a pressure washer right away.
3) Business setup:
You need a corporation or an actual business entity
Insurance
& a business bank account (always keep business separate from your personal finances).
Make a logo on canva
A gmail for the business
& a Google voice number as the designated business number.
Next setup a Jobber account as our CRM for sending estimates, scheduling, and keeping track of our customer data.
Setup a Google sheets to track all jobs and customers as a backup data base
along with a Google drive for all business, banking, and insurance documents to stay organized.
4) Brand Awareness:
Now its time to start getting your business online & noticed.
First, Google My Business listing (GMB)
This will become one of your main sources of leads once you start ranking locally.
A solid website + your GMB listing + reviews is gold.
Here's a guide to help setup and optimize your GMB listing
https://t.co/ByjbfjDESL
If I'm limited on funds ill start with building my own on any of the site building platforms (wix, squarespace, wordpress, etc)
Once the money starts coming in that'll be outsourced to a professional.
Create social media pages for the business - FB, IG, Youtube, Linkedin, etc --> Even if your not active on all of them, its still good to setup b/c they'll act as backlinks that'll help Google verify your business and increase your local rankings (Make sure all info is consistent across all platforms)
You can also setup backlinks on other directories and business listing websites like Nextdoor, Yelp, Thumbtack, Angies, Bing Business, etc
More backlinks the better.
FB is where you will most likely see the most return on your content efforts being that a lot of current day homeowners are on FB, especially posting in local FB groups.
For initial content for your website and social media pages, do jobs for friends and family, take pics/videos, and GET REVIEWS on Google
5) Getting customers
It'll be slower in the beginning but thats ok.
Get yard signs and door hangers
Put up 100+ yard signs per month in high traffic areas where cars have to stop and make sure theyre easy to read with 1 or 2 services & your business phone number.
Put out as many door hangers as you possibly can and start knocking doors as well.
You will be pricing on the lower side to start but as you gain confidence and experience, slowly start increasing your prices.
Get reviews from all your customers.
This starts with doing a great job then asking them in person for a review then sending them the link. If no review still then follow up once or twice.
Trust me reviews will be the biggest lever for your business as you start to get towards 30+.
As you begin to get the ball rolling reinvest back into a goo website, paid ads, and better equipment.
Keep refining, keep building that customer base & dont stop posting in local FB groups and bootstrap marketing.
Leverage your customers for more customers:
Put a yard sign in their lawn after every job with their permission
Hit their neighbors with door hangers and even a knock & stay consistent
& incentivize all customers to refer you to their friends by giving them a referral credit & sending them a nice before and after pic of their home.
When it comes down to it, its not complicated, its just straight up hard work.
Pricing, selling, and production will become easier.
Organic leads, referrals, and repeat customers will start to fill your pipeline and you will start cruising.
Its a game of consistency.
Hope this helps, if it did, please RT so I can help as many people as possible!
Cheers
