Often to be found in the garden or dabbling, badly, in photography and writing. Gave up on retirement and now working on diabetes prevention supporting the NHS
I simply cannot remain on this platform. The gestures made yesterday in America, let alone everything else that happened, are too much for this retired history teacher. Time to draw a line in the sand and stand on the right side.
Ofsted defensive and complacent after Ruth Perry's death - review - BBC News. A damning report into @Ofstednews. Some senior managers need to do more than reflect. How many other national institutions have a similar culture? Sadly, I know several. https://t.co/DqPixaNjZo
Ofsted single-word school ratings to be scrapped immediately. At last. Let’s just hope the former leader of Ofsted doesn’t get an honour. She clearly didn’t deserve one. Great step forwards. https://t.co/i5jedn4Wgx
@_TheIPC it’s proving impossible to contact you on line. I can’t register as your system failed to send a verification email. You provide no other means of contacting you. I want to alert you to the sharp practices of one of your members. Please can I have an email/address?
@bricksilk@LordSpeaker Really interesting interview. Indeed, it was so absorbing I didn’t miss the eight pieces of music! Totally agree with your points about how the House of Lords might be reformed at the end.
‘New lease of life’: how walking cricket is giving the over-50s a taste of Bazball. I’m lucky enough to be playing the full game at 62…no, not the number of runs scored, though I did pick up a couple of wickets last night. https://t.co/0UbtLUBxll
Saw the first House Martin (or swallow or swift for that matter) of the season at Bawdsey this morning! Spring is definitely here. Seemed a slightly early arrival. Perhaps the southerly wind helped it along the way.
Not sure this has been reported in the outside world, but a few days ago Egypt devalued its currency by 30%. Traffic through the Suez Canal has plummeted with the attacks. The crisis in Gaza has scared tourists away, hence the moored up cruise boats. They desperately need income.
Back in Egypt after 31 years. The pyramids and sphinx haven’t changed much! In stark contrast in terms of size, I loved these spoons in the Museum of Antiquities…though the Tutankhamen treasures remained the highlight and were just as astonishing second time around.
@tomwyer My daughter and boyfriend were in the stadium, lucky things. I’m off with my wife to see the game on Sat. Watched the Maidstone game, too. Two games this year. Not been for 30 years before this!
