@edwardjlarkin Remind me sometime to tell the story of a student who got angry when I mentioned in class a certain "founding father" said some racist things about Phillis Wheatley. Tried to "interview" me, ended up having to strenuously clarify that SHE DID NOT ACTUALLY approve of slavery 😆🤡

@petrichoregon My advice--reach out! I used a simple online contact form & explained why I thought I was eligible. Despite skepticism, seems to have triggered a review. I was denied at first, but then something moved behind the scenes (ofc, maybe unrelated to application); can't hurt to try!
