Honey had her morning walk today before the rain started. It’s now pouring down, but she’s being entertained by the male pheasant that has appeared in the garden. She’d really like to go out and “play” with it, but we’re spoilsports.
Another wet day, floods and a wet walk. I suppose all this rain keeps the dust down. It’s funny that all the people that were on the sea front yesterday have vanished today. Washed away may be.
On Honey’s walk yesterday it was lashing down with rain, we got soaked and, surprise, surprise there was no one on the sea front. Today it’s nearly as crowded as it is on a fine day in August.
Happy Christmas all. Honey got 2 new toys for Christmas which she really liked. Unfortunately, after playing with the duck for a while she decided it needed killing. We now have “snow” on the floor.
Honey had her normal evening walk, but tonight the sky from Budleigh’s sea front was stunning with the moon, Saturn, Venus and Pluto to be seen, or so we were told.
A little further on on today’s walk we were in the area of the Lower Otter Restoration Project, just walking along South Farm Road and saw a beaver. Fortunately the wild beaver watchers were caged.
Walked Honey along the old railway line yesterday, a walk she likes because we can let her off the lead AND the are squirrels, and as we all know, these have to be investigated.
No pictures of Honey today as Chris has been on dog walking duties as I’ve been out with the National Trust clearing scrub from Dumpdon Hill Fort. Should have thought to include pictures of our efforts but forgot. Only me and the NT ranger out, so a busy day, but we finished task
This is Budleigh Salterton’s cricket pitch this morning, any one for water polo. We’ve seen deeper floods but it’s been like this for a week and a half now. A damp end to October
Yesterday’s floods after the rain the day before. Honey would have gone for a swim but I thought it might be a little cold. I guess it will be worse this morning after last night’s deluge.
This evening’s walk was a little damp to say the least, here we are walking along one of the local railway line paths, normally dry even when it’s raining. Tonight, a river with its own waterfall!
According to the weather forecast it is the last day of summer today, rain and cooler tomorrow, so we took Honey to Sidmouth again. A play in the sea, a walk and then a coffee for us.
