Silver Deficit: A Crucial Moment for Investors

In 2024, silver demand is set to rise, while supply continues to decrease. There will be a silver deficit of 215.3 million ounces—the second-largest in over 20 years. Total demand is forecasted to hit 1.2 billion ounces, potentially the second-highest ever recorded.

The supply-demand imbalance in silver stems from growing industrial use, particularly in electronics and renewable energy, coupled with strong investor demand during uncertain economic times. Meanwhile, supply struggles to keep up due to declining mining production, geopolitical risks, and environmental regulations. Additionally, silver is less commonly recycled from industrial applications, further limiting its supply, leading to periodic imbalances in the market.

Despite strong demand, the silver price remains influenced by futures trading, often called "silver price manipulation." They suppress prices to accumulate. But, just like holding a ball underwater, the longer they suppress it, the bigger the explosion will be when it surfaces.

Sentiment around silver is also ripe for a breakout. After 40 years of stagnation, people are frustrated with silver’s lack of movement. Historically, when frustration builds like this, it's often a sign that a big move is coming.

Adding to this, silver has formed a 40-year cup and handle pattern and is the only asset still priced below its 1980s levels. Adjusted for inflation, silver would need to rise 4x just to break even with its 1980 price at $130. I expect it to go much further.

As physical silver shortages worsen, prices are likely to rise, reflecting the true market conditions. The silver market is at a critical point, and higher prices seem inevitable.
