It has officially been a whole decade since Hillary Clinton launched “Pokemon Go to the Polls” into the zeitgeist in Annandale, VA on July 14, 2016.
Sit with that for a minute.
@Nick86942937 The problem is that there isn’t really consensus. The reformist caucuses see AOC as the best hope of building a mass movement and the left caucuses would prefer to run a cadre candidate or agitational campaign, even if they recognize AOC is probably the only real option now.
You have the RIGHT TO VOTE in this non-binding poll to ensure your voice is heard:
Did you enjoy reading my article detailing the context of the recent NPC vote? https://t.co/Hw6txWHd2k
@Nick86942937 The hope was that they could work with the unions and like WFP to find good candidates – maybe Rashida Tlaib, maybe Shawn Fain, maybe AOC.
The convention was reluctant to accept the most likely possibility that AOC would run and then DSA would have to decide whether to back her.
@AndrewGiambrone@TWULocal100 I think it’s most accurate to say TWU advocates on behalf of the carriage owners and drivers. They don’t technically “represent” them since the drivers aren’t unionized.

If this ever does go to court, I'm curious how a judge would rule. When a voter writes in the name "Shamsul" in a race where the candidates on the ballot are "Shamsul Haque" and "Patrick Martinez," is their intent really unclear? https://t.co/laCLA6Y6iP
Ahead of the New York City Council's pay raise vote tomorrow, I want to re-up this story examining the past 90 years of City Council pay that excellent former City & State intern @CeliaBernhardt6 did at the end of last year. Worth a look! https://t.co/sPOqoJeNNf
Multiple people requested I write this. And if you want to spend your time reading 2,000 words about the procedural history of a resolution laying out DSA's process for endorsing 2028 presidential candidate, who am I to stop you?

Numbers are starting to appear on a screen with voting totals at the BOE. I can report that at least 1 vote went to Hello Kitty.
Which honest to god in this race - might just make her a spoiler.
This was an interesting anecdote from the NYT article on young voters powering Zohran's endorsements. It didn't matter that AOC herself didn't endorse. She loomed large and voters knew who to vote for so they could have "their own AOC."
The speaker is the 22nd City Council member to publicly support the bill. But there's another half-dozen or so council members who were just waiting for permission and will now almost certainly sign on after tomorrow's hearing.
It only needs 26 votes to pass.
Today, I'm announcing my support for Romanch's Law.
