A blessed Gaudete Sunday!
On this third Sunday of Advent, we embrace the joyful spirit of waiting as we prepare for Christ's birth at Christmas. Today, we change the liturgical color to rose as it symbolizes joy and hope with a "brightening" of the color violet.
As Pope Leo noted in his homily today, "in the Liturgical Year, it is the Sunday 'of joy', which reminds us of the bright aspect of waiting: the confidence that something beautiful, something joyful will happen."
This morning, I received one of the greatest honors of my life when I was sworn in as the 109th Mayor of the City of Mobile.
I am ready to get to work. Together, we can build a city people want to visit and love to live in. Thank you, Mobile!
Jesus asks us today to weave networks of relationships, of love, of gratuitous sharing where friendship is profound. Networks where we can mend what has been broken, heal from loneliness, not focus on the number of followers, but experience the greatness of infinite Love in every encounter. #DigitalisMissio

In this Jubilee of Hope, let us remember to pray for those who suffer and feel tempted by discouragement. In all of life’s problems and difficulties, let us turn to Jesus, acknowledging our desire for healing and embracing His promise of freedom and new life. #GeneralAudience
Dr. Rosephanye Powell, an Auburn University music professor, is involved in a defamation lawsuit filed by Indiana Bible College (IBC).
Powell claims IBC's production of "John 1" infringes on her work, "The Word Was God." On May 23, Powell and Gentry Publications issued a cease-and-desist letter to IBC. IBC is seeking damages and a court declaration that "John 1" does not infringe on Powell's work, asserting their composition is original.
Powell shared an email from February 2024, refusing IBC's request to use her song, noting the college had already been using it for years.
It is actually nuts that even when the NYC political establishment was presented with a broad field of talented candidates w/ many ideas, in a time of generational change & anti-corruption, they STILL chose to line up behind scandal-ridden Andrew Cuomo.
It’s cowardice.
