@beatingthebook Regarding the FA Cup: it is important. It is not winning the league, but it is a very close 2nd. The King of England will be at the final to present the trophy. It was the first soccer competition ever organized back in 1871… 17 years before a league began.
@beatingthebook Probably just me… But I’m tired of Jim Nantz. Thinks HE is the draw and show of the Masters, and will have sleepless nights trying to find his “Do You Believe in Miracles?” one liner. Just too much ego for a commentator.
@beatingthebook World Cup Update: Italy is out. With Djokovic in attendance, Bosnia wins in penalty kicks after 1-1. Winning penalty scored by a Wisconsin kid whose parents are Bosnian, known as “Milwaukee Messi”. Stadium only held 12,000 fans…. Sounded like 12 million!
@beatingthebook Last day to qualify for World Cup. Italy must win today (noon) after missing last two Cups. Deep in a dark Bosnian forest on a rainy night…. The hopes of a Nation that is struggling economically and low morale rides on this team. 300 million viewers: PRESSURE
@beatingthebook Good morning! Many of us cannot watch live on the VSIN website (only listen). We receive error message and “not authorized” since yesterday. Any insight?
@beatingthebook Rufus said his group was on Illinois spread and ML this week for the most money they have wagered in CBB. I, of course, tailed for an inappropriate amount of money and got sick when Dr Bob was oppo. So interesting how successful math models can differ.
@beatingthebook I used to agree w Kelly about time change… but have learned that sunrise would be at 9:15am in North Dakota on Xmas day w/o the change…. Seems very dark
@beatingthebook Welfare Check: you used to speak often of your friend in SoCal named “E”. He never understood ice hockey betting. Hope he is fine and just fell off VSIN radar. We love your stories Gil. #yogapants
@beatingthebook Regarding 3rd place match:
The South American countries rarely get their teams together. Most of their players playing in Europe or Asia. One more chance for magic experience together.
@beatingthebook I seldom watch tennis, but bet and watched Fritz yesterday. I was shocked at his mental game, and how he had to show on his face every emotion of frustration with his play. His previous victory vs the German was so great. Needs Tom Brady or Roger’s’ composure
