SHOCKING: A growing number of middle school athletes — mostly boys — are intentionally repeating 8th grade to delay their start in high school, giving themselves another full year to get bigger, stronger, and faster, which in turn dramatically boosts their chances at elite high school spots, college scholarships, and massive NIL deals potentially worth millions.
William La Jeunesse: “Of 8M high school students in sports only 7% will play in college.”
“On the other hand, the [likely] number one pick in this year’s NBA draft, [AJ Dybantsa], did 8th grade twice.”
CRAZY IDEA: How about we let more kids be kids!
This is what happens when you don’t have veteran leadership in clubhouse.
Some people think it’s funny, I think it’s horse***t. If he was my teammate, he and I would have a major issue.
Kids come to these games and emulate us. That is a responsibility we must uphold to the highest standard.
This isn’t the WWE.

Once upon a time if you took a dollar you weren’t supposed and got caught you couldn’t ever play college sports again. NOW you can get drafted, make millions playing in Europe, take two-way contracts in the NBA, play in the G League, and if all that doesn’t work out - you can just decide to go play college basketball.
#Patriots WR Romeo Doubs when asked if he has the #Packers game ‘circled' ahead of the schedule release:
“Nah man. Green Bay took care of me. There's no reason for me to have that level of pressure against them."
