The RBA board is "prepared to act as required", including by lifting the cash rate again. What it means for your mortgage:
When: the board meets 10 and 11 August. Today's 11.30am June quarter inflation figure is the trigger, and 3.9% or higher makes a rise live.
How much: 0.25 percentage points, taking the cash rate from 4.35% to 4.6%, the fourth rise this year.
What else is hitting you: real wages are down 5% in five years, the worst slide in the OECD, and Bullock says living standards keep slumping until inflation falls.
Shadow Treasurer Tim Wilson blames Labor: "They cannot stop their spending addiction. They're inflation junkies."
