Ms. Petersen's Class

We are a 2nd grade class in Colorado looking to share with parents and learn from other classes.

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

Great story time with our Spellbinder! Heard about elves w/a cooperation lesson & Tapingi-a Cinderella type story.

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

Pete the Cat is helping us work on our positive attitudes. Woke up our brains this a.m with Fastest Tag in the West.

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

We are looking forward to having our parents buy our artwork that can be placed on different items!

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

Last week we talked about cooperation and envisioned ourselves as crayons working together!!

We are back on Twitter after our summer break, it has been a great first week! Learning expectations & teamwork.

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

We especially liked his tornado dance. Mr. Liddle even joined in. Watch us on the 5:00 news!

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

Had an assembly with Mike Nelson from Channel 7. Learned about radio sondes, the jet stream & tornadoes.

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

We had our root beer float party. They were delicious! Watched The Mouse and The Motorcycle. Sad again in Despereaux.

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

In writing, we all finished our stories about something we have done. Poor Despereaux in our book today! :( Cirisa says TGIF.

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

Doing a writing sample, a story about something we've done-having fun going back to story writing! In Despereaux we feel both happy & sad.

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

Finished our lab reports & competed for farthest cotton ball shot using self designed catapults. Started reading The Tale of Despereaux.

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

@Kerian3B Does your classroom have couches?

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

We finished Ivan the other day and loved the ending! Tried to finish our writing experiments. Some of our catapults are launching FAR!

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

Still feeling sad with Ivan. In writing we made catapults using spoons, rulers, rubber bands and popsicle sticks.

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

Ivan is making us feel very melancholy. Started a new lab report about wheels and axles to see if bigger or smaller wheels will go farther.

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

Celebrating Lily's birthday today. Happy birthday to Lily over the summer! Sad for poor Stella today too in our book.

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

Learned that scientists need to learn about their topics. Read, watched video, & heard a lecture. Tried to use science words in conclusions.

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

Practiced for our theme test. Got our writing back with letters from our third grade teacher judges. Laughed a lot in The One and Only Ivan.

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

Feeling sad for all the animals in The One and Only Ivan. All in different spots with our lab reports. Learned about conclusions today.

[Ms. Petersen's Class @PetersenGrade2]

Today we got to do our experiments for our lab reports to answer the questions we asked. We are sad that it's AJ's last day today. :(
