Thank you.... not sure how to measure success but flowers and veg were judged, rosettes and cups were given out. An improbable amount of cake was eaten and lots of children bounced, and won lollipops! Roll on next year!

The word 'pink' describing a pale red colour was first used in the late 17th century. It is thought to be derived from the common name for Dianthus plumarius. To 'pink' is to create a feathered or scalloped edge like the flower's petals. This can be done with 'pinking shears'.
