@DanNeidle@logi_con@gareththomas54 This data refers to business income vs employee income? Not overall asset growth vs employee income? Overall asset growth still greatly outpaces wage growth.
@DanNeidle@gareththomas54 So you're conceding that the issue with the proposed wealth tax is that it doesn't go far enough, but it was never meant to be the finished product, just a foot in the door to get the ball rolling.
@logi_con@DanNeidle@gareththomas54 It's more about the trend, if asset growth is permanently taxed less (in percentage terms) than an income for a job, inevitably you'll end up working harder for a smaller percentage of the total wealth.
@DanNeidle@gareththomas54 ONS Stats suggest that 1% of UK households own approx. 23/24% of the UK wealth. It might be a difficult problem to solve, but that doesn't stop it being a problem.
@LauraTrottMP School has to be more than just being about academics, skills have to be nurtured as well, not all children are the same! We can't keep steering people towards worthless degrees that don't lead to good jobs, it's time for skills to have their chance!
@hewantswealth As I understand it, the interest on your uninvested cash in your S&S ISA will be taxed. So if Β£27,000 of your Β£28,000 is invested you'd only get taxed on the interest made on the remaining Β£1000. Assuming you're getting 2% that works out as 22% of Β£20 (Β£4.40).
