@dougtayek No, it is normal for peppers to exhibit darker pigmentation at the branch nodes. The foliage and flowering looks healthy, which are the best indicators. Black rings or sunken areas accompanied with wilting or yellowing are more indicative of a disease issue.

@MatteBl50010390 @espoma If the animals are causing a problem, you may want to switch to another fertilizer like Osmocote, and / or use compost that you make at home.

@MatteBl50010390 @espoma Unfortunately, some dogs and animals will dig because of the smell of ingredients. In Plant-tone, this includes feather meal and animal manure. This can also happen with entirely plant-based organic fertilizers as well because some of the ingredients are perceived as food.
