Lately, I have been busy with uni, so I didn't work on my project as much as I would like to. In my spare time I managed to optimize the generation process. Each system now takes roughly 3 - 4 GB of memory and 2 minutes to generate, which i take as a win.
Not much work was done today, just migrated whole project to #unity6 and some bug fixes. The migration went much smoother than i expected. Good job Unity team!
This week I am working on extending terrain generation and some custom tools to support it. So far, I managed to implement object placement based on simple rules (clustering, allowed biome, height limit). The code behind it is unrefined and ugly, but rework is always an option xD
Hi, I would like to introduce you to a small project that I have been working on for past 4 months. It is a game about survival and exploration set across multiple solar systems. From now on, I am planning to post updates about it every week. In that spirit, see you next week.
