Are Julian’s performances at the World Cup concerning to you? Can’t forget, he went large parts of the season looking like this.
Just 6 non penalty goals all season in La Liga, went on a massive dry spell. We’re talking about close to €150m here…
A story many people don’t know, is that in the summer of 2004, when Eto’o was moving from Mallorca to Barcelona, Real Madrid tried to complicate the deal.
Madrid had a clause allowing them to match 50% of Mallorca’s highest offer. When Barça bid around €21–24m, Madrid used that clause and spread rumours they would match it, not to sign Eto’o (they already had their quota of non-EU players and weren't planning to use him) but to delay and disrupt Barça’s move.
And this is where Etoo came out and strongly made this statement "I feel like a Barcelona player. The deal has been delayed, but joining Barca is my overwhelming desire."
And he even said "A club that you all know well, a club that I don't want to return to because they never showed any faith in me, are now blocking my future progress. But it will be resolved soon."
To end a long drama and join Barcelona peacefully.
El capo Florentino Pérez y Josep Maria Bartomeu se acaban de llevar el megacontrato de limpieza del metro de Barcelona por 185 millones de euros con sus empresas Clece y Adelte y donde sus empleadas están totalmente precarizadas.
Atleti have just publicly rejected an offer worth €150m, without even thinking about it. In what world would they accept an offer worth considrably less?
And tbh, while I understand the want to sign him, this isn’t a player that will make or break our summer. Especially at the quoted price.
@velikaflegma@NealGardner_ I couldn't care less about friendlies. It's just preparing for games, tactical adjustments, physical preparation and variety of players playing.
Only competitive games matter for me.
@NealGardner_ In att it's not the best but still Perišić, Kramarić with new additions like Matanović from Freiburg and Marco Pašalić with new profile that we lacked for years.
Also Toni Fruk player to watch, he is one of biggest talents in the world. Just look at his game Rijeka vs Strasbourg
@NealGardner_ Yup this Croatia. It's good side with best defence we had in decades with Gvardiol, Vušković and Stanišić as pillars of defence.
Good mid again with Pašalić, Kovačić, all time great Modrić, Petar Sučić from Inter and Luka Sučić from La Real.
Baturina great season in Como.
@CaptnGuardiola I always thought that UEFA could have much bigger impact on implementing same framework. But it didn't happen fully, partially yes.
But at least make it much more strict, like selling stakes of your company to your sister company what Chelsea did to manipulate FFP.
@CaptnGuardiola Sell deadwood, even if it doesn't bring much profit short term, but in long term it turns into profit due to offloading huge chunks of wages.
Replace them with academy players. Immediate financial impact with lower wages. Sell them only if there are indeed big offers.
@CaptnGuardiola Look at Barça it suffered a lot but promoted youngsters that gave result and some of them turned into profit, but was not selling for sake of getting profit.
Clubs need to be patient with profit and learn to suffer for some time and turn it around. Only if all are under same rule
