In 2024, the Security Service of Ukraine detained three guys.

These guys were writing harsh things on Telegram about Zelenskyy and about the Security Service of Ukraine.

The guys were arrested, and a criminal case was quickly put together.

Three guys from the Kyiv region turned into FSB agents who were scouting the locations of Ukraine’s energy facilities.

The very same facilities that can be found on Google Maps.

The SBU also said that these three guys wanted to derail a freight train.

But the SBU, of course, prevented this terrorist attack.

Today, these three guys were sentenced.

One got 15 years with full confiscation of his property, while the other two guys got life sentences.

Diplomatie hat im Europäischen Parlament Hausverbot! Die Friedensbotschaft von @IuliiaMendel, der früheren Sprecherin von Präsident Selenskyj, sollte offenbar mit allen Mitteln von der Öffentlichkeit ferngehalten werden. Die Parlamentspräsidentin Roberta Metsola ließ dafür kaum eine Möglichkeit ungenutzt.

Erstens: Frau Mendel wurde der Zutritt zum Europäischen Parlament verweigert. Zugleich wies uns ausgerechnet der Kabinettsleiter von Präsidentin Metsola darauf hin, dass sie per Videokonferenz zugeschaltet werden könne – über das zertifizierte Konferenzsystem des Europäischen Parlaments.

Zweitens: Diese Zuschaltung wurde darufhin von uns vorbereitet. Doch nur wenige Stunden vor Beginn der Veranstaltung erhielt die technische Abteilung des Parlaments die Anweisung, das Konferenzsystem für unsere Veranstaltung nicht freizugeben. Damit wurde genau der Ausweg blockiert, auf den Metsolas eigener Kabinettsleiter zuvor hingewiesen hatte.

Drittens: Als wir daraufhin mit unserem eigenen Videokonferenzsystem eine Verbindung zu Julija Mendel herstellten, wurde den Parlamentsdolmetschern untersagt, den auf diesem Weg übertragenen Vortrag zu übersetzen. Diese Weisung wurde ihnen kurz vor Beginn der Veranstaltung nochmals ausdrücklich eingeschärft.

Trotz alledem wurde und wird Julija Mendels Stimme gehört: in einem Saal, der nicht nur bis auf den letzten Platz gefüllt war. Besucher saßen auf den Stufen und standen in den Seitengängen. Hinzu kamen mehrere Livestreams – und bald wird Mendels Vortrag auch in deutscher Übersetzung auf meinen Kanälen zu sehen sein.

Seit Mittwoch wissen wir jedenfalls, wie groß die Nervosität gegenüber Stimmen ist, die den EU-Kurs in der Ukrainepolitik infrage stellen. Zutrittsverbote und technische Hindernisse können eine politische Debatte erschweren – verhindern können sie sie nicht.

Die Veranstaltung und ihre Resonanz haben gezeigt: Die Frage nach Diplomatie und Frieden lässt sich nicht aus dem Europäischen Parlament verbannen.
