IF Sorsby is in a 2026 supplemental draft and IF their front offices signed off on the character evaluation, the Steelers and Vikings should consider a 1st round pick. Both teams are on a continuous track to pick outside the top 15 and otherwise stay in QB purgatory.
Stafford literally playing for a gold jacket right now. If he wins this game, then he likely wins MVP and beats the Pats in two weeks. That’s give him two Super Bowls, a 1st Team All-Pro, and an MVP. Likely HoF lock at that point.
Not exactly a hot take, but I have concerns for Phillip Rivers’ health tomorrow. That Seattle defense is nasty and he is not going to be mobile. Hope he plays well, because that would be fun. But seriously, TTT needs to be like 2.2s.
5) The worst part of this trade…they are now locked into DJ. For it to be a success, they have to make a Super Bowl. Which means they are betting the house on Daniel Jones winning 3-4 games against Allen, Mahomes, Lamar, Herbert, Hurts, Stafford, Baker. I still don’t see it.
Sauce will be a good player for the @Colts AND this will be a bad trade:
1) Two 1st rounders is only acceptable for three guys: elite QB, dominant pass rusher, and young all-pro WR. Not OT, not CB, definitely not safety.
Here’s why ⬇️
4) Look at the two current dominant forces in the AFC. KC and Buffalo. The relative gain of eliminating one of their WRs is small compared to teams with a dominant alpha. Their touches in the passing game are diversified on a night to night, week to week basis.
A wide receiver also affects the entire play. Every DB and backer on the field has to know what’s going on with JJ and Chase. The coverage is based around them, the box is lightened for them, etc. just not the same when an offense is planning for an elite corner.
3) Simply put, corners don’t end plays. An elite number one corner consistently pushes the QB to his second read. An elite pass rusher caps the play at 2.5 seconds. The corner is affecting one part of the play, one part of the field. The pass rusher affects the entire play.
2) Corners are volatile season to season. Sauce will likely be up and down during his time in Indy. Very, very few perimeter corners have held an All-Pro level for 3+ years straight.
5) The Bears start slow and then were comfortable with where they’re headed by the end of the year. First game in a new system against Flores is a rough draw.
Predictions for the 2025 NFL season:
1) In two years, the Jags will regret not taking Abdul Carter, or just sitting on their picks and taking Tet, Will Johnson, and another 1st.
