After a week of deliberately avoiding downtown Ottawa due to the protests and having no real reason to make the journey, I've had second thoughts. The need to see for myself is due entirely to the lop-sided reporting which depending on the who's reporting can differ 180 degrees.
As an Ottawa resident, it’s so bizarre watching this thing unfold. Local news, city council are all “end of days, chaos and call in the army” but my Mom’s groups on Facebook are baking muffins, making sandwiches, sharing videos of singing protestors and doing trucker crafts 🇨🇦
I want no gov surveillance, no medical-status controls on access, the right to use cash, no corporate influence on public matters, and far more democracy.
Gov must be reset in our service.
I will always fight for this.
I swear, all these lockdowns and stories of vacationing politicians must trigger anyone who lived under Communism; the ruling class of elites always lived well and broke their own rules, which they demanded everyone else follow. Or else.

Andrew, a nurse in Ontario wrote this powerful message to his MPP outlining the real situation in our hospitals during #COVID19.
I encourage you to warn your MPP and @fordnation that the longer they perpetuate this lie, the harder the consequences will be.

Obviously what happened on the rink wasn’t “a one off” we are ripping apart our Country over an exaggeration. @calgarypolice@nenshi are uncanadian and unbecoming of holding any public office.
