Thanks to @KaySocLearn and the @PgcertEd students for a good day online learning, sharing and supporting each other. Coaching and mentoring is our focus. Better education is our purpose. They are the potential. @CollectivED1@EducationLBU
I’ve finished reading and assessing the portfolios from the first cohort of @PgcertEd. They were probably the most professionally satisfying and stimulating assignments that I’ve ever had the pleasure to read. I’m hopeful that @CollectivED1 working papers will follow to share.
Today @KaySocLearn and I teach the @PgcertEd. Starting with research on professional conversations. Lots of peer review of f coaching & mentoring rationales & critical incidents analyses. We are also talking post-humanism & activity theory. Finishing with a Thinking Council.
Wow. What a fab new @PgcertEd group. I was anxious about having to design and lead this online as I love F2F teaching but we’ve had a great kick off day. Thanks to @KaySocLearn for co-facilitating and to the students for being such a joy to work with. My weekend starts now.
You can now register for our online taught @PgcertEd. Running Jan to July 2021 over 3 Saturdays & 8 Monday evenings. It’s been fabulous to work with educators from EYs through to FE this year. Our focus is coaching, mentoring, leading CPD, developing professional collaboration.
Just a quick shout out to @PaulaAyliffe this morning who must be exhausted (honestly I was just listening to all that she’s doing as a primary co-head) but whose cheerful and insightful reflections on the progress she’s making on the @PgcertEd was great to hear.
Great to have caught up with @venkatesh_ash this week who has been using his @PgcertEd to reflect on the future of support for headteachers, and starting to map out more blended models which outlive the pandemic.
Great to chat to @Daniel_s_Duke about life in lockdown, balancing FE work & family roles & staying reflective about both. That provides an essential foundation for realistic developments in his ongoing role as a coach. The pandemic has provided new ways of approaching @PgcertEd
Good to catch up with @historycarlin to check in on how she’s faring with while supporting students & colleagues during the pandemic. Really interesting ideas emerging for her @PgcertEd around adult communication and how it can be understood & reframed for positive change.
