🚨 Mass Arrests of Medical Staff; “Crime”: Fidelity to the Medical Oath

Field reports indicate an escalation in security crackdowns on physicians who have treated those injured in the protests. Raids on homes and the arrest of doctors are pushing citizens’ access to emergency medical care into crisis.

📍 Some of the detained doctors:
•Dr. Alireza Golchini (Surgeon, Qazvin)
•Dr. Ameneh Soleimani (Ardabil)
•Dr. Farhad Nadali (Surgeon, Gorgan)
•Dr. Saber Dehghan (Surgeon, Sirjan)
•Dr. Babak Pouramin (Emergency Physician)

Under international law, medical personnel are protected in the performance of their professional duties. Treating the wounded is not a “crime.”

�� Healthcare professional, Matin Moradian, was arrested for providing care to wounded protesters in Mashhad.
🔴Dr. Alireza Golchini, a general surgeon in Qazvin, faces possible execution for posting an Instagram story offering free medical help.
🔴 Dr. Shamsi Abbasalizadeh, OB-GYN& university professor, was arrested by security forces in Jan 2026 in Tabriz & injured during arrest.
🔴Dr. Ameneh Soleimani, a physician in Ardabil, was arrested for treating injured protesters.
🔴Dr. Farhad Nadali, an orthopedic surgeon in Gorgan, was abducted after condemning the killings.
🔴Dr. Saber Dehghan, a neurosurgeon in Sirjan, arrested for helping the wounded.
🔴Dr. Babak Pouramin, an emergency physician, has been detained for over a week.
🔴Dr Sobhan Esmaeilpour, dentist, was arressted in Rasht for providing care to wounded  protesters. He is tortured and his mother is detained too.

UPDATE: Reports indicate a growing crackdown on medical professionals in Iran, doctors and healthcare workers arrested after treating wounded protesters.

Among those named:
Dr Alireza Rezaei, urologist, Tehran
Matin Moradian, healthcare worker, Mashhad
Dr Saber Dehghan, neurosurgeon, Sirjan
Dr Farhad Nadali, a general surgeon in Gorgan
Dr Ameneh Soleimani in Ardebil

Colleagues are being detained not for violence, but for providing care and, reportedly, for documenting injuries. This pattern suggests an attempt to intimidate medical staff: don’t treat, don’t record, don’t bear witness.

Medical neutrality is a core ethical duty. Treating the wounded is not a crime. Silencing doctors endangers everyone.
