Today was my first day as an assistant professor at @csuf 🍊🐘
The Soto Lab is officially open!
I am recruiting master’s students and technicians. If you know of anyone (international students included) who is interested in astrocyte biology ✨ please DM.
This award means a great deal to me. I am incredibly thankful to @hdfcures for supporting the work I care so deeply about. I’m quite proud to receive an honor named after such an inspiring and pioneering scientist—Nancy Wexler.
Many thanks to my fantastic mentor @baljit_khakh
Soto lab end of the year lunch!
Truly grateful to be able to do some cool science with my students. This summer we are putting in work. Hope to share our results and research with the world soon! ✨
@sophmshi@Nature@wysscoray @CarolynBertozzi Very nice paper congrats! 🥳 Presenting it to my cell biology class today. Good timing as we are studying the ECM!
My research wouldn’t be possible without NIH & 🧠 Initiative funding.
I will be sharing this at a congressional briefing Feb 20 1PM, alongside Adam, a combat veteran with PTSD, who benefitted from our clinical trial. For more on Adam’s story👇 & to join: https://t.co/36pP9ytJPU
Today in class, I tried to plant a seed on how we define cell identity. What makes a cell a cell?
As part of lecture, I presented students with a vid of live beating hiPSC-derived cardiomyocytes from @AllenInstitute and measured their responses before and after lecture. Results:
Beautiful images hot off the microscope from my trainees, @independent_dai and Cathy, showing astrocytes in key sensory brain regions. Can’t wait to see what we find ⭐️
Had a phenomenal time with @MacmillanLearn and other biology instructors learning about cool and new ways to improve biology instruction. It was a real treat to meet new cross-country colleagues and gain new perspectives on biology pedagogy. 🤠
