Doing a PhD is a strange experience, because every non-academic thinks you're an overachiever while you live in fear of being exposed as a wastrel and fraud
If you want to hire someone because of their skills, the last document you'd want to read is an academic CV that just lists degrees, publications, courses taught, etc. Those lists tell you almost nothing about their specific skills & abilities, or the impact they have at work.

Reminder that in general it's significantly more common to earn a PhD and then work *outside academia* than it is to work on the tenure-track or in a similar academic role.
A PhD is often seen as training or prep for an academic career, but it usually doesn't end in one.
