The first harvest is the best! Tea trees cultivated in #Agroforestry in Xieng Kouang in #Laos start to produce again. Leaves harvested in dry season are the most precious ones. In @ASSETProjectSEA, we decypher how shade trees support ecosystem services @Cirad @dp_Asea @Inter_dPs
ASSET Flagship Meeting in Xiengkhouang, #Laos 🇱🇦 on Jan 18-19, 2024. Our partners reviewed insights from the past year & planned 2024 activities. The event combined extensive discussions & a field visit showcasing innovative #agroecology practices like coffee/tea intercropping.
We have a permanent position in soil ecology open in my team based in Martinique. If you want to participate to the agroecological transition of tropical agriculture at CIRAD, in a young multidisciplinary team, you are very much welcome to postulate here https://t.co/cv0NLXJokT
In #Xiengkhouang 🇱🇦, 400+ farmers were trained in #agroecology 🌾practices. Mrs. Sodsouda adopted Integrated #PestManagement (IPM) right after the training.

Does #agroecology makes farmers happy? A good question to address in the #dp_asea. We can believe it does, when looking at the luxuriant #banana#coffee papaya & pigeon pea associations tested by @Cirad and PAFO teams in #Laos inside the #ASSETproject in Xing Kuang province
With the support of #ASSETProject and #dp_asea@inTeR_dPs, the Ban Poa research station of PAFO in #Laos is demonstrating the potential of agroforestry systems. After banana, tea trees, fruit trees and much more will be planted this year.
Interesting visit of intercropping experiment trials carried out by Lao teams inside #Aciar#TR4 project. Does a mix of banana, maizes, beans will help regulating foc TR4? Nice perspectives of collaborations of #Cirad with Australian, Lao, Filipino, Malaysian, Indonesian research
#InternationalTeaDay2023 in Lao PDR! Produced by smallholder family farmers, traditionally wild crafted & cultivated in forest or through agroforestry, building upon thousands of years of ethnic traditions & indigenous knowledge, Lao tea is truly unique!

Promising future collaboration of @Cirad with the Plant Protection group of the Faculty of Agriculture of Nabong from National University of #Laos (NUoL). The team of Dr Phouthasone Sibounnavong would be a great partner for #dp_asea@inTeR_dPs in #agroecology and Crop Protection!
Excellent visit by EU representatives of the diversified cropping systems designed in the #ASSETProject in #Laos in the province of Xieng Khouang. A fine example of #agroecology carried out in #dp_asea@inTeR_dPs by @Cirad with Pafo, Dafo, Dalam.
#dp_asea scientific days, with Jean-Paul Laclau, head of persyst department @Cirad, continue by a great field visit at Bos Khnor experimental station #cardec Cambodian #Conservation_Agriculture Research for Development Center. @Inter_dPs @AidaDirecteur
