No, please be serious. Hollywood relies heavily on overseas box office, it is a global market. An American audience is not the sole target audience. That said, your point only explains the studio’s commercial calculation, not the principle. If American actors can portray African historical figures, non-American black actors can portray Black American figures. Either cultural specificity matters in both directions, or acting can cross national boundaries. I am partial to the latter.

Always liked Zendaya, I think she’s a beautiful, fantastic actress and person but I never really saw her as sexy until I watched The Drama, of all things.
