Being a man isn’t always easy.
You plan the trip, fuel the car, make sure everyone’s comfortable… and somewhere along the way, the music goes quiet.
You check the mirror 🪞
All the babies? Fast asleep.
Even your babe? Gone 😄
And just like that, from “family man” to a chauffeur.
Deep down, you smile though you feel they should keep you company and help stay awake as well 😴.
But this is what love looks like;
Carrying everyone safely, even when they don’t see it in the moment.
Men… we keep driving ❤️
Just a few weeks ago, Mr. @BitiTendai, a comrade and human rights lawyer in Zimbabwe, was speaking out strongly condemning our brutal persecution by the Museveni regime following the sham Jan. 2026 election. Unfortunately, as I type this, he has joined the long list of comrades in Africa unfairly detained by their governments for seeking freedom.
Biti was arrested alongside other freedom fighters in Zimbabwe for resisting attempts to extend the presidential term there to seven years and restrict the election of the President to members of Parliament only. It is disturbing to see this script, which Ugandans are already familiar with, being deployed in Zimbabwe as well.
Biti's arrest is a cowardly attack on all citizens of Zimbabwe by a regime that cannot sustain open debate about their future without resorting to brute force. I call for his immediate, unconditional release together with the colleagues detained with him. The people of Zimbabwe deserve freedom, and leaders chosen by them. The struggle continues!
As someone who has spent so much time defending the Zimbabwean government, protecting the image of the nation, and fighting sanctions imposed by the West, it's disappointing to see the image of the nation being trashed due to arbitrary arrests of opposition members who are merely debating a constitutional amendment that ZANU PF itself brought to the public for mandatory debate.
How can a few people tarnish the image of the entire nation just because they want to stop people debating a law that they proposed on their own, knowing that our constitution mandates the debating of the same law that they want? Why propose a bill if you can’t adhere to what is required to pass it? Why did ZANU PF give us this constitution if it doesn’t want to adhere to it?
Houses are being built in wetlands, the Chinese are mining along riverbanks and causing siltation and dumping cyanide everywhere but it’s a man who was cooking sadza in the CBD that makes the headlines?? I hate this country 🙌🏾
I've long advocated that all 15 SADC countries put funds & build refineries in Angola so we can get fuel there.
But we elected to be sending $2 Billion monthly to Middle East to buy the same fuel we can get here in Africa.
Pride couldn't let us support each other as Africans !!
