I don't think he'd be as open with her while being a grieving alcoholic. He def would have been ok with her, but as comfortable after the Horrors idk

Because it's pretty obv in Mockingjay that they are the or at least part of the foundation of the rebellion, if it wasn't them helping Haymitch who else ? Original charactersthat don't appear?

She's one of the only, if not the only, one who treats him like a human BEFORE he becomes a victor. It basically allowed him to know she was different early on

Yes maybe Mags and Wiress didn't need to be specifically his mentors but they were always gonna appear with the rebellion plot (1)
