Marings, the guardians of the eastern border of Manipur has risen! Marings, Aimol have now halted the census training programme at St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Kuraopokpi, in Tengnoupal district.

The Maring gentleman cautioned the census team to stop the training as "indigenous communities" have now almost lost its birthright to Kuki refugees. He warned the census team to think of the future. Goes on to state "if you dare you can do in Kuki houses in Tengnoupal; even then we will barge into every house and check..."

Was wondering what are the indigenous communities doing in the hills regarding census training! Showing solidarity wasn't enough. Action was needed. Marings have shown it.

On 24.08.2026, during a cordon and search operation at J. Songtun Village, Kangpokpi by a combined team of Manipur Police, CRPF, RAF and CoBRA, the following were recovered/seized:
