On this day: 68 years ago, company test pilot Robert C. Little made the first flight of the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II (YF4H-1) at Lambert Field, St. Louis, Missouri (May 27, 1958). The legendary fighter of the Cold War was born.

Caught "Independence One" this morning. Southwest Airlines gave this 737 Max 8, tail number N1776R, a special paint job to celebrate the U.S. 250th Anniversary.
