கோயம்புத்தூர், பீளமேடு அருகே உள்ள அரசு உதவிபெறும் ஸ்ரீ கே.கே. நாயுடு மேல்நிலைப் பள்ளியில் 11ஆம் வகுப்பு படித்த தலித் மாணவர் அகிலன், மாட்டிறைச்சி உண்பதைக் காரணமாகக் கொண்டு சக மாணவர்களால் சாதிப் பெயரைச் சொல்லி இழிவுபடுத்தப்பட்டுத் துன்புறுத்தப்பட்டதாகக் கூறப்படுகிறது. இதுகுறித்துப் பெற்றோரிடமும் வகுப்பாசிரியரிடமும் புகார் தெரிவித்தும் உரிய நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படவில்லை என்றும், ஆசிரியரும் பள்ளி நிர்வாகமும் காட்டிய அலட்சியம் அவரது தற்கொலைக்குக் காரணமாக அமைந்ததாகவும் அவரது குடும்பத்தினர் குற்றம்சாட்டுகின்றனர்.

உயர்கல்வி நிறுவனங்களில் மாணவர்கள் எதிர்கொள்ளும் சாதியப் பாகுபாடுகளும் ஒடுக்குமுறைகளும் தொடர்ந்து வெளிப்பட்டுவரும் நிலையில், தற்போது பள்ளிகளிலும் இத்தகைய சம்பவங்கள் நிகழ்வது வன்மையான கண்டனத்திற்குரியது. கடந்த மூன்று மாதங்களில் பள்ளிகளில் நிகழ்ந்துள்ள இரண்டாவது சம்பவமாக இதைக் காணும்போது, இது தனித்த நிகழ்வல்ல; மாணவர்களின் கல்விச்சூழலில் சாதியப் பாகுபாடு தொடர்ந்து நிலவுவதன் ஆபத்தான வெளிப்பாடு என்பதை உணர வேண்டும். எனவே, இப்பிரச்சினையை தவெக அரசு மிகுந்த தீவிரத்துடனும் பொறுப்புணர்வுடனும் அணுக வேண்டும்.

இச்சம்பவம் தொடர்பாகச் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட ஆசிரியர் மீது குற்றச்சாட்டுகள் எழுந்து, விசாரணை நடத்தப்பட வேண்டிய சூழல் இருந்தும், இதுவரை அவர் கைது செய்யப்படாதது கண்டனத்திற்குரியது. இவ்வழக்கில் பாரபட்சமற்ற விசாரணை நடத்தி, சட்டப்படி உரிய நடவடிக்கை எடுப்பதுடன், அகிலனின் குடும்பத்தினருக்கு நீதி கிடைப்பதையும் தவெக அரசு உறுதிப்படுத்த வேண்டும்.

பள்ளிகள் மாணவர்களுக்குப் பாதுகாப்பையும் சமத்துவத்தையும் உறுதிப்படுத்த வேண்டிய இடங்கள். ஆனால், சாதியப் பாகுபாடு மாணவர்களின் கல்வி உரிமையையும் கண்ணியத்தையும் உயிரையும் அச்சுறுத்தும் நிலை தொடர்வது ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள முடியாதது. சாதியப் பாகுபாட்டைத் தடுப்பதற்கான வழிகாட்டு நெறிமுறைகள் இருப்பது மட்டுமே போதுமானதல்ல; அவற்றைச் செயல்படுத்த வேண்டிய ஆசிரியர்களும் பள்ளி நிர்வாகங்களும் சாதிய மனநிலையிலிருந்து விடுபட்டவர்களாக இருப்பதை உறுதிப்படுத்த வேண்டும்.

எனவே, அகிலனின் குடும்பத்துக்கு நீதி கிடைப்பதை உறுதி செய்வதோடு, இனி இதுபோன்ற சாதியப் பாகுபாடு மற்றும் ஒடுக்குமுறைச் சம்பவங்கள் பள்ளிகளில் நிகழாமல் தடுப்பதற்கான உரிய வழிமுறைகளை வகுத்துச் செயல்படுத்த வேண்டும் என நீலம் பண்பாட்டு மையம் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறது.
