After all of these years, I’ve finally conquered my fear of drawing @Beyonce! This is my first drawing in over a year. Every time I have a hiatus like that, I get terrified that my skills have fallen off. This was just the challenge I needed.
People don’t talk enough about Daniel Burnham’s 1909 Plan of Chicago. What an absolute masterpiece of city planning and to secure the entire lakefront for public use.
Average rapper: I’ll kill you in your sleep
JAY-Z: Administer pain, next the minister screaming your name
At your wake as I peek in, look in your casket, feeling sarcastic
“Look at him - still sleeping”
Shoutout to the @NHLBlackhawks and the @ChicagoFire for reinvesting in downtown Chicago and Illinois. How cowardly of the @ChicagoBears to run from your fans to another state to find harbor because the taxpayers of IL refused to shoulder the costs of your stadium.
Folks in the comments saying "It's a short drive" are missing quite a few points.
One of which is: no one should have to rely on a car to get to a sporting event and then pay an arm and a leg for parking. People should be able to take public transit.
George Halas started this franchise in middle of nowhere Decatur, Illinois. He loved this state. Illinois is the Bears.
George McCaskey has continuously let him down for what he did for the Bears. If he was alive today he would have never let this happen
I’m glad the Illinois politicians haven’t caved to the Bears. Let Indiana pay the taxes while Illinois still reaps the benefits because folks will stay in Chicago, not Hammond
I’ll say it until I’m blue in the face, taxpayers should not have to kick in a dime on these stadium projects. If you can’t afford to build one as an owner, maybe you shouldn’t own the team.
Kevin Warren:
• Has done nothing with the Arlington Heights property the #Bears spent $200 million on
• Lied about the extent of negotiations with Brandon Johnson
• Has made several media statements with no real info
• Makes himself a focal point in locker room speeches
honestly one of the most humiliating decisions in professional sports history and proof that there are no adults left in the room trying to advocate for the League, just a bunch of billionaires trying to shake every last quarter out of their piggy banks
I’m now convinced every move the #Bears make is just a leverage ploy to get a better deal out of the other side
Kevin Warren is the king of declarative statements that actually mean nothing
