One of the most disturbing things I witnessed in Zamfara happened at a naming ceremony.
Bandits stormed a child’s naming ceremony.
They handed the father a knife and ordered him to slaughter his own newborn. He refused.
They handed the knife to the wife and told her to kill her husband. She refused.
In front of her, they killed both the man and the child, (as in slaughtering them) and then left the woman alive.
She was brought to our facility. Until the day I left Zamfara, that woman never recovered mentally.
When Nigerians argue about whether banditry is exaggerated, I remember her face.
It will never be well with APC!
This guy was arrested by Moniepoint for just airing his complaint on Twitter, and they’ve chosen to detain him for over a month now.
We mustn’t allow this injustice guys, failure to release him this week must amount to mass withdrawal of 𝕏 users from the Bank.
Again, to reiterate:
If you never point to the best of men to represent the totality of men, then you must be a deranged lunatic to say the worst of men represents the entirety of men.
Yar’Adua will forever remain an icon in Nigeria’s political history.
No other president has matched his genuine selflessness.
Even in the face of serious illness, he put the lives and wellbeing of Nigerians above political games, refusing to let any cabal take over his government.
Nigeria will always miss you.
