@ypriverol@PastelBio If you apply log transformation before, there should be minimal effects if only a few of abundant varies. Your normalization shouldn’t be skewed by it then.
@mjmaccoss @NatalieTurnerAu @MacCossLab @SNEVresearch @IsevComms @ANZSEVresearch We would be keen to test transferability and other matrix if you look for people to test that.
@piefuchs @chrashwood I agree on that. And I believe this is the point. Specs sheet is not a marketing document. It’s a technical one. Nothing like a good demo!
@chrashwood Getting sensitivity values is also a nightmare. One thing I would be very careful about is tech specs vs reality. Most applications will later show that optimal operating conditions rarely align with tech specs, this is especially true for max speed and intra scan dynamic range.

@pwilmarth @PastelBio We totally agree! But Shorter gradients tends to improve %cv of your features. We have demonstrated that in the lab and there is a nice app note of @EvosepBio@SCIEXOmics that shows that. But too short you start to lose. The 500 spd method showed loss in %cv.
Check out this great application of proteomics in assay development that our team recently collaborated on! 🤝 ⬇️
