I've made a reply in one of the prominent tweets about the PokeRogue situation. I am a Head Artist for PokeRogue, I am trans, nonbinary transmasc. I am homoromantic, I am unapologetically queer. I am making my own statements as an individual. I want to speak from my perspective.

@An_Oni_Moose_ It's not fair to apply rules retroactively, it's not allowed now. If he were to be using the word now he would automatically get timed out and it would quickly cause him to lose his role. Rules are very different from what they were when Sam ran the server.

@faded_evergreen I would like to clarify I didn't do the pre-existing designs for the characters currently in game but I am working on new ones. The previous existing designs were by another artist, I believe they should be in the credits, we need a better sequence for crediting people.

@norkbork1 @020thN00b @yourlocallalaya @Thunderblunder7 I mean the problem was the amount of spam was making it difficult to moderate. It's easy to nitpick how the singular mod trying to deal with this all over 4 hours handled it, but he was doing the best in the circumstance. Obviously he didn't perfectly moderate it.

@swifferglow It's a little hurtful to see people saying stuff like this even if it comes from a place of misunderstanding, just feels like everyone is continuing to feed the dragon and not really listen to us as a community trying to address things. We are not all transphobic, Sam left.

@OrnikoCwiffe @Nnubas Yeah what I meant was that like, being queer was never really relevant before it suddenly was, you know? Not having sleep in 30 hours impacts your judgement a little bit. Maybe I shouldn't be responding at this point since I still haven't gotten proper rest.

@Thunderblunder7 I understand peoples concerns but I wish that we were allowed to make statements to try to clarify things before this blew up to make us look like villains and bigots. Like our announcement drafted by 10 people being proclaimed an 'apology by a transphobe' when we all signed it.

@Thunderblunder7 It's honestly a bit of a disaster what with how everything panned out, just a series of questionable decisions and comments feeding into a perfect storm for a hate mob. I myself cannot stand dealing with drama so this entire situation feels very stressful.

@Nnubas @OrnikoCwiffe Video games can be an escape for queer people just as much as cis/straight ones, obviously discussion about transness isn't normal but the circumstances kind of just encouraged that to happen. I don't think we should shy away from talking about it.

@dekuscrubmike I just wish that people would have taken our statement made together and believed it, but a lot of people have taken it as an 'apology by a bigot' instead. It all just feels so incredibly disheartening, it was an announcement written by like 10 individuals over 3 hours.

@mintifox I don't claim to speak for him but he was alone at that moment and actively surrounded, sure his reaction or words were not the best on their own but I genuinely think it was an instance of being in an unenviable situation and not having the best reaction to it.

@mintifox My opinion is that his words were taken wildly out of context, if you actually look up where he was saying it he was literally being bombarded with hate speech and stupidity everywhere. I think he just very poorly worded his statements.
