"And so, the night before the invasion, when Colonel Wolverton asked his parachute troops to kneel with him in prayer he told them:
Do not bow your heads, but look up so you can see God and ask His blessing in what we're about to do."

In his five starts this year, #Angels José Soriano has pitched to a 0.28 ERA (32.2 IP - 1 ER).
The only other pitchers to allow one-or-fewer ER in their first five starts of a season (min. 15 IP) are Walter Johnson (1913 Senators) & Fernando Valenzuela (1981 Dodgers).

"The Mets finally gave up on Nolan Ryan's wandering fastball today."
New York Times.
"But we've had him three full years of Nolan Ryan and, although he's a hell of a prospect, he hasn't done it for us.
How long can you wait?
I can't rate him in the same category with Tom Seaver, Jerry Koosman or Gary Gentry."
Mets GM Bob Scheffing.
"I always thought that there was going to be life after baseball, and so I designed that in my life I would have other interests after baseball that I would be able to step into.
And I didn't realize the grip that baseball had on me and on my family."
Nolan Ryan.
Ryan pitched for twenty-seven seasons and led the league in strikeouts eleven different times, including his twenty-fourth season when he was 43 years old. Recorded 10 or more strikeouts in a Major League record 215 games.
Nolan Ryan led his league in strikeouts 11 times.
Only Walter Johnson did it more, (12).
Ryan and Johnson each finished among the league’s top five in strikeouts 18 times, tied for the most all time!
"Ryan's baseball's exorcist, he scares the devil out of you."
Dick Sharon.
@MoeMoton Your main point aside, Moe; I (we) know all about a hated division rival winning a SB on your home field and it sucks! No love lost for the 49ers here, but I empathize on that issue.
