When you look past the two tier judiciary, the cost of living increases, the diminished relationship with the US, David Lammy, the failure to implement the Supreme Court ruling on women only spaces, the restarting of the trial of puberty blockers, the closure of 100 private schools, siding with Hamas, the murders of Wayne Broadhurst, Henry Nowak,Rhiannon Whyte, the hosepipe bans, the pissing rain, the appointment of Peter Mandelson, the Chagos Islands surrender, the battle to bring an Egyptian terrorist to the UK and give him citizenship, the prosecution of veterans, the bombing of UK sovereign territory in Cyprus with no response, closure of our last blast furnace, youth unemployment that would shame a Spaniard, the Chinese Embassy being hooked up to MI6s servers, twenty Ministerial resignations, the return of James Corden from the US, Mrs Browns Boys recommissioned, the a303 remaining unwidened, the tax take hitting a record high and still borrowing grew, a third of our electricity coming from foreigners, GB Energy, taxing farmers to suicide, rape gangs being replenished in every town and city, apart from that Lewis it has felt we've just lived through a golden age. Just to remind these same folk:
You’ve not lifted 1/2m kids out of poverty. You’ve just moved them over a bureaucratic line on a Whitehall spreadsheet.
Your ‘workers rights’ are destroying entry-level jobs, hitting young people disproportionately, where unemployment is now over 16%.
You have not transformed the NHS. It’s still the same old wheezing leviathan, just with a lot more dosh and still dismal productivity.
And you’ve nationalised steel and rail before. It was not the prelude to an economic or industrial miracle. Plus you will now have to include their demands for capital/subsidies among all the other priorities already crowding in on the public purse.

Is anyone else sick of ministers not answering questions in Parliament? By allowing them to make irrelevant statements in response to questions, the Speaker risks making Parliament itself redundant - if ministers are not required to answer questions asked in the House then one of the main functions of Parliament is lost

So today I have written to @CommonsSpeaker to express my concerns, referencing Energy questions last week

@ClaireCoutinho asked @Ed_Miliband who is responsible if there is a blackout in the UK and what would happen to them if there was one

He accused her of scaremongering, expressed sorrow that she no longer supports net zero and made some totally unconnected comment about green jobs

What he did not do is answer any part of her question and the Speaker said nothing. No requirement to answer the question. No reprimand for talking irrelevant waffle. Nothing

Week in and week out we see the same at PMQs - @KemiBadenoch asks a question and @Keir_Starmer lurches through some pre-prepared answer often on another topic, or complaining about the record of the previous government or Liz Truss or whatever his pet peeve of the day is

So what's the point? If ministers and the PM are allowed to simply say any old rubbish when asked a question and not even pretend to answer it, why bother with the whole charade? Why bother with Parliament? Why not just have a few committees drafting legislation and taking evidence from third parties?

By allowing this, the Speaker's Office is reducing the House of Commons into meaningless spectacle. It's simple theatre without substance and without purpose

If Sir Lindsay Hoyle wants to play a supporting role on the stage, London's West End has plenty of opportunities for this. The Palace of Westminster is not one of them

Britain had a moment of silence for George Floyd. Our politicians kneeled en masse to show their outrage at his killing. "I can't breathe" became a slogan.

George Floyd died on the other side of the world. He wasn't British.

Henry Nowak *was* British and his treatment by the police was shocking and negligent in the extreme. Yet there is no minute of silence. There is no coordinated public campaign. There is no kneeling at sporting events.

And we all know why.

During the summer of BLM, some people said "All Lives Matter". This was treated as the highest form of racism and anyone who said this was immediately cancelled. Why? Because the people in charge don't actually think all lives matter in the same way.

They have created a racial hierarchy of victimhood where a career criminal who died through mistreatment by police in a foreign country with 0 evidence of racism like George Floyd is automatically sanctified because of the colour of his skin.

And Henry Nowak, a British man, one of ours, is automatically dismissed and ignored because of the colour of his.

This is the ugly fruit of so-called "anti-racism", an obsession with race that has created a two-tier society which treats people differently because of the colour of their skin.

This needs to stop.
