@MikalJoseph1980 Vamp is lot of fun. Grace Jones is her usual imposing self, Sandy Baron is great as the seedy strip club MC, Keith Haring makes a striking contribution, and the elevator set-piece is brilliantly done. It would make a great double feature with After Hours.
They want you to believe your voice doesn't matter.
Yet in just the last few days:
-LAPD canceled its Flock contract.
-Meta cancelled Muse Image AI after privacy outrage.
-One of the largest planned U.S. data centers was killed (PW Digital Gateway) by local opposition.
The surveillance state isn't inevitable.
It advances when people are apathetic.
It retreats when people fight back.
Public pressure works. Keep pushing.
This is absolutely the first time I've ever heard of this. What a cast! Susan Tyrrell & Bobby Riggs?! Phil Silvers & Bjorn Borg - Together at last! You'll never convince me that the 70s wasn't the greatest decade in film history!
one of the posters for long-forgotten 1979 sex-comedy RACQUET, which reportedly tried to do for tennis what SHAMPOO had done for hairdressing. Somehow a still-active Bjorn Borg was persuaded to cameo, finding time in his schedule between his 3rd & 4th Wimbledon victories.
The revisionism that really bugs me the most is when the recent box covers change the title to Indiana Jones And The Raiders Of The Lost Ark. No. Just NO.
The only official way to see Raiders on its 45th anniversary without ANY changes in a widescreen transfer with the best audio mix is STILL the 1992 Laserdisc. The quiet revisionism that has gone on with the trilogy is excessive. #indianajones
Sigourney Weaver sinking this impossible basketball shot in Alien: Resurrection.
Nobody thought she could do it; they had to make a quick cut in the edit as Ron Perlman instantly broke character & shouted, “Holy shit, it went in!”
They removed CD/DVD drives from devices.
They made physical media harder to buy and use.
They removed expandable storage from phones.
They pushed us into streaming subscriptions.
They made always-online normal.
They made unlimited internet necessary.
Then slowly raised the price of everything.
Ownership quietly became renting.
@TheStingisBack I liked "Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead" more than "The Usual Suspects". The Tarantino comparisons were overdone, especially when you notice that Damon Runyon seems to be just as big an influence (characters called Jimmy The Saint, & Critical Bill). Truly underrated.
“Jurassic Park” star Sam Neill says he is cancer free after five years of battling blood cancer. He's even planning to return to acting: “It’s time I did another movie.”
At one point, his chemotherapy stopped working and “I was at a loss and it looked like I was on the way out, which wasn’t ideal obviously.., [but] I’ve just had a scan just now and there is no cancer in my body, that’s an extraordinary thing. I’m very, very excited that this can happen.”

Buy CDs. Buy DVDS. Buy vinyl. Buy books and read them. Buy newspapers and magazines and print quarterlies and read them, too!
You won’t believe how amazing it feels to pick up your entertainment and enjoy it without notifications interrupting, without strangers starting arguments, without video ads making it hard to concentrate on what you’re doing.
That shit is the old magic. The old magic has power. It relaxes you. More importantly, it breaks the spell.
