We're in the process of digging another well, this time in the middle of our rice fields. With a 10ft diameter it should produce around 20,000l of water in a 12-hour period and enable year-round food production to increase access to food for slum families.

As the primary leavers enter the month before their leaving exams, we set up temporary boarding in school – to help our candidates avoid distraction and focus on the lead up to examinations that are so crucial to their future lives.

It was with great sadness that we learned on January 29 of the unexpected passing of our chair of trustees, Phil Game. He died peacefully at home. Phil helped steer the UK charity through great growth and we opened 2 high-quality schools for slum children. https://t.co/Akjc99nQM9

Rose is one of 4 cooks at the school. She collects firewood from the store each morning and lights a fire over which the meals are prepared. She also fetches water and washes kitchen utensils. The kitchen provides lunches for pupils & staff when the school is open. #school #slum
