Tonight, we shine in Tonganoxie Middle School red and white as we celebrate the Grand Prize Winners of the 2025–26 Burns & McDonnell Battle of the Brains.

Out of 710 innovative ideas submitted for the next Science City exhibit, the student team from Tonganoxie Middle School was announced today as the Grand Prize Winner for their proposal, “Mechanical Madness: The Science of Cars.”

The school will receive a $50,000 grant to support STEM initiatives, along with the opportunity to collaborate with Burns & McDonnell and Science City professionals to bring their winning idea to life as Science City's next interactive exhibit.
