@matteopelleg For very high valued accounts, hardware FIDO keys, such as those from Yubico, provide stronger isolation against remote malware or cloud account compromises. Importantly, it meets the highest assurance levels (i.e., NIST AAL3 non-exportable authenticators).
@pashov Depends on which particular cybersecurity domains. For example, SOC L1 and L2 are getting automated with AI. Other domains are also getting automated very soon, if not already.
@alexanderrX_ There’s a real difference by audience: ARB wants crisp technical depth and trade-offs. BoD wants one clear outcome, the business impact, and a direct ask—details kill attention.
Japan’s bosai culture has long shown the value of disciplined, society-wide preparedness for sudden disruption. Cyber risks now demand the same mindset from both government and business leaders—treating resilience as a core management and national priority, not solely an IT issue.
@WarrenLNaida There are many outstanding and credentialed cybersecurity professionals in the UK and Europe who can speak more authoritatively on these issues.
BBC Cyber Correspondent Joe Tidy holds an English degree from Loughborough University. His career path ran through student media, BBC local news, CBBC Newsround, and Sky News before he became the BBC’s first dedicated Cyber Correspondent in 2018. Appreciate the take, Gergely. Rising costs for secure software and the opportunity for AI-fluent security talent both make sense.
On longtime pros being broadly “sceptical”: recent data (SANS 2026, ISC2) shows rapid adoption—AI use in cyber jumped to ~78%, with most recognizing the need to counter AI-enabled threats at scale and speed. The caution is more about reliability, autonomy, and governance than rejecting AI outright. Human oversight + AI is the practical consensus.

@BFMTV The prefect just told productive businesses to hire their own private security because the state can’t protect them. After the looting on the 17th, this is the official response.
