@jwbausch I’ve played there a bunch in the last two years as I’ve been able to affordably bring out my kids at twilight. It’s a solid course (back and 4th especially) and a good value with usually very good conditions.

@jwbausch I asked my 17-yo and his first thought was Northampton Valley (not knowing the architect) and also mentioned Manor.

@jwbausch They’ve got church pews on 3! I knew a bit but didn’t figure out which hole was old va new.

The conditions were great and it’s not a hard walk for being hilly. Too many trees. Definitely worth a trip.

I also played the front 9 of the Knoebels course, which is… something…

@jwbausch Tough task. It’s made up of two different nines, but interspersed. The newer holes are standard Ed Ault - solid but uninspiring. The old holes are really quirky over hilly land, like what you’d see at Manor/Galen/Reading (which I love). 1, 2, 3, 12, 13, 16 and 17 are really fun.

@GarsParsn @SirPuttsalot @jwbausch Between v2-3, the rebuilt the greens and some were relocated. Bunkers added. The three ponds were added. An article says 9 went from a par-4 to a par-3, but a 1917 routing shows it as a par-3 so I don’t think that’s correct. 17 went from a par-5 to a par-4.

v1 - Meehan (~1911)
v2 - Corson/Meehan/Wilson/Ab Smith (~1914-1917)
v3 - Likely Flynn/Wilson (~1920-1923). Flynn collection has drawings of all holes overlayed on the prior course as was built. Routing effectively the same as v2.

@GarsParsn @jwbausch You have to wonder if JFM’s golf swing changed over the years. All the OB at North Hills is to the left and pretty much all of the OB at Sandy Run is to the right.

@GarsParsn @jwbausch I did some research on this in the fall/winter. This is referring to Sandy Run. Here’s a a 1924 Dallin of Edge Hill: https://t.co/gZkg7S0NEV There’s also a 1924 that shows NH as a full 18 and a 1928 that shows Edge Hill expanded to 18.
