6th June 1944
One of my grandfathers served with the Black Watch. Another served with the North Staffordshire Regiment. Both landed in Normandy on D-Day.
Today we remember the men who crossed the Channel and stormed the beaches under machine-gun fire, artillery and unimaginable danger. Many never made it off the sand. Many more fell in the days and weeks that followed.
Those young men endured things most of us can scarcely imagine. They fought through fear, exhaustion and loss because they believed they were defending their country, their families and their way of life.

If they could see us today in 2026 they wouldn't have bothered, the country they fought for is unrecognisable. Their bloodlines are being replaced and their descendants are treated like 2nd class citizens in their own country. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🇬🇧

Never forget their sacrifice and never forget what our own "elites" have done to us since.

They stormed the beaches and saved the world.

The roughly 160,000 Allied troops who landed in Nazi-occupied France on June 6, 1944, not only successfully executed the largest air, land and sea invasion in history, they did so amid daunting obstacles, terrible bloodshed and stakes that couldn’t have been higher.

“We will accept nothing less than full Victory!” their commander, Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower, told them. And victory, in this battle, was far from certain in the first hours of that first day.
